We hereby invite all Hapkido schools to participate in the 10th Nordic Hapkido Cup. The competition will include both demonstration and sparring divisions. The competition is open to all Hapkido practitioners whatever “style” or organizational affiliation.

Rank Requirements: 9 gup – 4 dan

Participants must be member of an official Hapkido School.

Rules: STF, World Kido Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association

Awards:
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

Categories

Miniors: born in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018

Cadets: born in 2011, 2012 and 2013

Juniors male and female: born in 2009, 2010 and 2011 (Athletes born in 2011 may compete as cadet or as junior, not in both).

Seniors male and female: born in 2009 and older (juniors  born in 2009 may compete as junior or senior, not in both).

Ultra male and female: born in 1990 and older

Entry

Contestant entry fee: 400SEK

Note that entry fee is included in the participation fee for those attending The Nordic Hapkido Summer Camp.

Coach: For every 5 contestants within the same team, one coach is granted free admission, with a maximum of 3 coaches.

Only competitors and coaches have admittance to the competition areas.

Spectators: FREE entry. Donations welcome.

There will be a snacks and drinks available for purchase on site.

Weigh-in: TBA.

All competitors have to prove their age and nationality by presenting their passport or identification card at the weigh-in.

Rounds: 2 rounds x 1.5 minutes. Rest between rounds 1 minute

Match System: We will use a pool system, which means that athletes

are guaranteed at least two fights in all weight categories that has a minimum of 3 participants registered.

Equipment:  Groin, forearm, shin guards and Mouthpiece are compulsory and must be brought by the contestant.

Categories

To compete as a beginner in the sparring the contestants must hold the rank 9-5 Gup

To compete as an advanced in the sparring the contestants must hold the rank 4 Gup –

For Minors there is no gender separation, i.e. boys and girls will compete in the same category.

If there are too few participants in any lenght/weight category it might be necessary to combine two or more categories, if that is the case the coaches it concerns will be announced. Divisions will be drawn up once registration has closed.

Demonstration Divisions
(Hosinsul, Hyung, Mookisul)

All competitors have to prove their age and nationality by presenting their passport or identification card at the registration.

Categories:

Individual competition takes place between participants in the same category. In case of too few participants, two categories may be merged, concerned coaches will be announced if such is the case!

Age categories, minior, cadet, junior and senior, as above. Men and women compete in the same category, ie. no gender breakdown

To compete as a Beginner in demonstrations the contestants must hold the rank 9-5 Gup.

To compete as an Advanced in demonstrations the contestants must hold the rank 4 Gup – 1 Gup.

To compete as Elite in demonstrations the contestants must hold the rank 1 Dan – 4 Dan.

Where numbers allow you will compete within your own category and age group only, however in some instances we will need to combine divisions/age groups to create a fair competition. Our judges are trained in how to fairly score forms and techniques should this occur. Any division that has less than 3 competitors mght be combined with another similar rank/age to create a fair but still competitive event.

Exhibition

During the afternoon of the championship day, an Hapkido Exhibition will be performed where Masters, Instructors and Demo Teams will treat the audience with action filled performances.

Visiting masters, instructors and teams are invited and encouraged to partake at this Exhibition. Please notify the organizing committee of your interest.

Rules

The Tournament Rules of World Kido Federation/Hanminjok Hapkido Association will be used but with a few small changes to comply with swedish law.

Liability

Liability: All competitors participate at their own risk. The organizers shall not accept responsibility for any damages, injuries or losses sustained or incurred.

Insurance: The organization and supervisor assume no responsibility for teams, any damages, violence, losses and injuries during the stay in Sweden. All contestants must bring their own documents and forms for any medical treatment in Sweden. If not, this must be paid in cash.

About

The Nordic Hapkido Cup and Festival is an annual event held in the city of Skellefteå in the north of Sweden. The aim is to bring hapkido practitioners from around Sweden, Europe and the rest of the world together to meet, train and learn.

The Nordic Hapkido Cup and Festival combines an exiting championship in which participants can compete in sparring, self-defense, forms and weapon forms, and an exhibition where masters, instructors and demo teams treat the audience with action filled performances. Afterwards participants meet up for dinner and a pleasant evening with good food and a unique opportunity to socialize and have fun together.

This year the The Nordic Hapkido Cup will be held in conjunction with The Nordic HapkidoSummer Camp, three days of learning and working out together during intensive Hapkido sessions, lectures and workshops led by some of the world´s most skilled masters and instructors.
